BSc. BIO (Hons.), Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.)

Born and raised a farm girl in the orchards and wineries of the Niagara region, Julia followed her dreams and brought her determination and work ethic out west. Her lust for exploration, outdoor adventures, and love for the mountains has had her proudly making the Kootenays her home for more than 10 years.

She began her university education in Ontario in Biomedical Sciences and quickly transitioned to combine her love of anatomy, medicine and health with her passion for all animals. She graduated with an Honours BSc. in Biology specializing in Zoology as her eagerness to care for others extended far beyond human health. She enjoyed many rewarding years working in the field of Zoology and Wildlife Biology, specializing in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. It was here working with marine mammals that her search for powerful natural healthcare solutions introduced her to the magic of Acupuncture.

Shortly after this revelation she began her training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated with honours at the top of her class. She is extremely excited to begin this new stage of her career as a member of the Institute of Movement. Along with the rest of the clinic, she shares a passion for the outdoor activities that make the Kootenay region an incredible place to live and explore. She has a special interest in Sports Medicine Acupuncture and is enthusiastic about working alongside modern chiropractic care to deliver the most effective treatment plan possible for each patient. Julia is a board certified and licensed member in good standing of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).

In addition, Julia also plays a significant role behind the scenes of the clinic acting as the Director of Clinic Operations. She brings a great deal of pride, passion and energy to the clinic and everything she enjoys. She aspires to be a dedicated ally on your unique journey to health and best self.
